On 13 October 2023, an event concerning the enforcement of the Mohanyal Rural Municipality Local Forest Act 2078 and the establishment of the Municipal Forest Council was held in Sukhad, Kailali. The occasion was graced by the presence of notable individuals, including Sudurpaschim Province’s Minister of Industry, Tourism, Forest, and Environment, Mr. Ramesh Singh Dhami, Miss Bharati Pathak, a member of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly and former FECOFUN chair, Devi Datta Upadhyaye, the chairperson of the rural municipality, Ram Bichari Thakur, the Divisional Forest Officer, along with various forest officials, Kailali district FECOFUN Chair Karna Rawal, Vice Chair Maina Dhakal, GFN Dang Secretary Suresh Kumar Rawat, municipal FECOFUN chairs, CPC Tank Rawal and community forest user group leaders.
