Coordination and Policy Reforms Needed for Promoting Local Enterprises and Production

Tourshala news portal has covered the three-day training program on “AgroForest Enterprise Cooperative Promotion”  organized by Green Foundation Nepal in Hetauda, with Anand Kumar Shrestha, Chairperson of the Industry, Tourism, and Environment Committee of Bagmati Province, as the chief guest. The event focused on the state of Nepal’s industries, challenges in utilizing forest resources, and the role of cooperatives.

Shrestha highlighted that although more than 400,000 industries are registered in Nepal, they have not been effectively linked to the national GDP. He emphasized the need for local governments to bridge the gap between enterprises and the government.

The program also underscored key areas such as bamboo production, promotion of small enterprises through cooperatives, and addressing unemployment through skill and knowledge transfer.
