GFN has a long history of working with local communities, addressing their needs and be a part of their economic and environmental revolutions. GFN’s initiative has led for the successful establishment of more than 50 climate-friendly enterprises, supporting and strengthening their operations providing social and economic empowerment for both youths and women’s. GFN is committed towards large-scale landscape restoration through cumulative approach of revitalizing degraded lands and improving soil fertility, fostering a greener landscape and harnessing an ecological balance. GFN has mobilized various green and eco-clubs, and local communities to directly involve them in environmental conservation and sustainable practices, coupled with a objective of fostering a sense of ownership and stewardship towards the natural resources they consume. GFN has always been known for their programs structure targeting and mobilizing the secluded disadvantaged section of the society, viz., marginalized groups, including women’s and indigenous peoples, by directly providing employments and income generation, addressing economic inequalities and sustainable management of forest resources through revision of community forest user groups operational plan that aligned with the provision of economic empowerment, climate justice, GESI, and many more. GFN’s collective action towards policy level advocacy has resulted in the facilitation of more than 40 local governments.
GFN with these approached aims to create a more resilient and prosperous future, balancing human development with environmental stewardship and ultimately aids in local economic development through the concept of circular bio-economy
