The Community Forest Day 2081 was celebrated on August 9, 2024, focusing on interaction, tree plantation, and discussions involving community forest user groups (CFUGs) and various stakeholders, including FECOFUN and the Division Forest Office. The event highlighted topics like human-wildlife conflict compensation, PAN numbers for CFUGs, and the effective use of funds. It began with an interactive session that emphasized sharing experiences and knowledge on forest management practices.
Following the session, 200 trees of different species, including eucalyptus, khair, and gulmohar, were planted in the Aaishorya Mahila community forest. The event aimed to reinforce the theme “Effectiveness of Community Forests: Participation of All Three Levels of Government and the Community” and successfully promoted community involvement and environmental conservation. Despite facing challenges such as budget constraints and a reduced number of participants due to local circumstances, the day was celebrated joyfully, achieving its goals of interaction and plantation.
