Amrit honey, the product of Vishal bee farm and Makawanpur wooden handicraft from Dang and Makawanpur districts of Nepal respectively has been supported and promoted by Green Foundation Nepal (GFN). GFN supported for feasibility study, skill development training, value chain analysis, equipment facilitation; market network and technical support to bee farm and wooden handicraft enterprise through the collaboration with private sectors and different organizations.
Though, Vishal bee farm was established in 2011 but Green Foundation Nepa started supporting it since 2013. Currently it has 300 hives. Total 10 people are working in the farm and people all over the Nepal are benefited from the Amrit honey of Vishal bee farm. Amrit honey is categorized into three types regarding to the source of honey. Those are: honey from mustard flower (Nepali nameтАУTori), honey from Pogostemon benghalensis (Nepali medicinal herb-Rudilo) and Honey from Aesandra butyracea (Nepali name-Chiuri). The farmers of Vishal bee farm has future planned to make 5000 bee hives and to distribute its products globally.
Makawanpur wooden handicraft enterprise is producing five types of wooden products (i.e. Nepal map, aakhijhal, photoframe, stupa and key ring) from 2015. Altogether fourty three members especially poor women and dis-advantage people from four community forests (i.e. Piple Pokhara, Banaskhandi, Neureni Chisapani and Manakamana) of Makawanpur district are trained and involving for handicraft products production.
